Habitat for Humanity/7 Rivers Maine brings families and communities in need together with volunteers and resources to build, rehab, repair and weatherize homes.
Weatherizing, Repair, and Stay In Your Home

Habitat offers two programs for homeowners looking for assistance.

  • Weatherizing and Repair
  • Stay In Your Home
Step 1 - Basic Weatherizing

Homeowners with limited incomes may apply for our free 2017 Step One Weatherizing program.  For qualifying participants, Habitat will do a free home weatherizing assessment and then return to complete simple, cost-effective projects that will increase energy-efficiency, reduce heat loss, lower energy bills, and increase comfort in the homes.  Where needed, properties will receive storm window inserts for up to six windows.

Stay In Your Home

Senior citizens and physically disabled homeowners receive help with general repairs and safety and accessibility modifications.  Projects are unique to each homeowner and property and are focused on making it easier and safer to remain in the home.

We are pledged to the letter and spirit of U.S. policy for the achievement of equal housing opportunity throughout the nation. We encourage and support an affirmative advertising and marketing program in which there are no barriers to obtaining housing because of race, color, religion, sex, handicap, familial status, national origin, age, marital status, sexual orientation, or sources of income.
