Donating Materials

Donation guidelines are strict.  Appliances must be less than ten years old, complete, and in working order.  Other items must be in good shape, and in useable sizes.  For example, plywood and sheetrock must be at least half sheets,  lumber must be in full lengths, etc.  For details on the guidelines, see below.

Your contributions are welcome . . . and needed.  Pickup of items is available, and every donation helps toward providing adequate housing to those in need.
 
To make a donation, drop it by the store, or call the ReStore at (207) 386-5087 to arrange for pickup.

We accept appliances 10 years old or less. Must be clean and in working order with no missing parts.  Please include owners manuals if you have them, as they add value to your donation.
We accept cabinets in complete units.  Must have doors, shelving, display racks, etc.
We accept doors (with frames) in good condition.  Must not have holes, cracks, rot, etc.
We accept lighting fixtures, receptacle boxes, switches, outlets, electrical parts, wire, plugs, plates, and hardware associated with electrical wiring.
We accept tile (10 sq. ft. min.), wood, laminate, and area rugs.
We accept furnaces and heaters up to 5 years old in good working condition.
We accept sofas, chairs, tables, shelving, beds (except mattresses), bed frames, etc. in good condition.
We accept nails, screws, door and cabinet hardware, etc.
We accept full rolls of insulation in good condition.
We accept lumber and moulding in usable lengths.
We accept full, unopened containers of paint and stain up to 5 years old.
We accept tubs, sinks, vanities, faucets, low-flow toilets (1.6 gpf), etc. in good condition.
We accept full and half sheets of plywood and drywall in good condition.  Also, lumber and trim (4 ft. min.)
We accept rolled roofing material (tar paper, ice shields, etc.) and bundles of new shingles.
We accept wood siding in good condition.
We accept all hand and power tools in working condition.
We accept water heaters up to 2 years old.
We accept double or triple pane windows (safety glass) under 6' x 6' with frames.  Please include hardware and cranks for casement windows.
