Weatherization/Repair

Habitat for Humanity/ 7 Rivers Maine offers weatherization and repair to low-income residents in the counties of Lincoln and Sagadahoc and the towns of Brunswick and Harpswell.  This program looks to partner with families in this service area to complete energy efficiency improvements and home repairs using volunteer labor, local contractor labor, and donated or purchased materials.  To receive weatherization or a repair, a home must meet basic criteria that ensure the safety of the occupants.  Weatherization will not be performed on houses with extensive mold and moisture issues and repairs will not be performed on homes with extensive structural damage.

To qualify for a repair or weatherization project, a homeowner must be a resident of our service area for one year, be between 25% and 80% of local median income (click here to see the income qualification guidelines), meet a minimum credit score, and be willing to partner with Habitat through a sweat equity agreement and/or very low interest loan.  After partnerships are identified, projects that can be completed include, but are not limited to: insulation and air sealing, basic interior and exterior repairs, ramp and stair repairs, etc.  Any materials that are donated and volunteer labor that is used will not be included in loan costs.

This year-round program is currently looking for partner families to work with.  If you have further questions, or you think you may qualify, please call Ryan Collins at 386-5081 or email ryan@habitat7rivers.org.  If you do not think you qualify, please refer to the resources below for further information.
